Viagra Dosage
The dose of Viagra?® your healthcare provider recommends will vary depending on a number of factors, including:
- Your age
- Other medical conditions you may have
- Other medications you may be currently taking.
As always, do not adjust your dosage of Viagra unless your healthcare provider specifically instructs you to do so.
How To Take:
This drug is taken by mouth as needed 45min before sexual activity. Take only as directed, usually half a 100mg pill once daily as needed. Sildenafil works along with sexual stimulation to help achieve an erection.
Rare Viagra Side Effects
During clinical studies, there were a number of other side effects that occurred in less than 2 percent of people taking Viagra. It is difficult to tell whether these side effects are caused by Viagra or something else.
Some of these possible Viagra side effects include, but are not limited to:
- Allergic reactions
- Angina pectoris
- Migraines
- Temporary vision loss
- Fainting
- Congestive heart failure
- Vomiting
- Dry mouth
- Anemia
- A sudden decrease in or loss of hearing
- Gout
- Arthritis
- Muscle pain (known medically as myalgia)
- Depression
- Seizures
- Anxiety
- Prolonged erections without pain
- Prolonged, painful erections (priapism)
- Insomnia
- Asthma
- Inflammation of the sinuses (sinusitis)
- Cataracts
- Urinary incontinence.
Important safety information
Do not use other medicines or treatments for ED while you are taking Viagra.
Viagra does not stop the spread of HIV or other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) to others through sexual contact. Use barrier methods of birth control (eg, condoms) if you have HIV infection or an STD.
Viagra will not prevent pregnancy. If your partner may become pregnant and you wish to avoid pregnancy, be sure to use an effective form of birth control.
Use Viagra with caution in the ELDERLY; they may be more sensitive to its effects.
Viagra is not recommended for use in CHILDREN; safety and effectiveness in children have not been confirmed.
PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: Viagra is not approved for use in women. If you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Viagra while you are pregnant. It is not known if Viagra is found in breast milk. If you are or will be breast-feeding while you use Viagra , check with your doctor. Discuss any possible risks to your baby.
Drug Interactions:
Tell your doctor of all nonprescription and prescription medication you may use, especially any nitrate medications (e.g., nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate), nitroprusside (any "nitric oxide donor" medicines), cimetidine, erythromycin, azole antifungals (e.g., itraconazole, ketoconazole), mibefradil, rifamycins (e.g., rifampin) or high blood pressure medicines.
Viagra Storage
Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C)
Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from heat and direct light.
Do not store in the bathroom, near the kitchen sink, or in other damp places. Heat or moisture may cause the medicine to break down.
Keep the medicine from freezing. Do not refrigerate.
Do not keep outdated medicine or medicine no longer needed. Be sure that any discarded medicine is out of the reach of children.
